No Stranger was a compilation of leading musicians coming from five different rock bands to support an album previously recorded and being aired in Europe and listing in the top 10 radio spot. The band decided not tour Europe due to local performances and fast rising popularity here in the US. Tim Gaines, who at the time, lived in Nashville and recently toured with Richard Marx, had just lost a recording contract while playing with Stryper. Tim joined No Stranger, who was being produced by Bill Carruthers. Bill previously produced Wilson Phillips and was responsible for launching their careers. Joe Reggiatori, who wrote “Save Your Love,” which was performed by Great White, was No Stranger’s lead song writer. Joe now lives in Washington and is still recording songs. Tom Hardy, who was in the band Stormer, performed and toured with the Scorpions, Van Halen and other popular bands. Tom was also responsible for co-writing songs with Joe. Bill Green, to my right in photo above, played with a band here in LA called Grizzly. Bill was the star of the band, even though he was the drummer. I previously played with the band Danger, and we had played with most popular rock bands such as Great White, Lita Ford, Van Halen, Poison, Guns & Roses, Missing Persons and many more. We were considered Hollywood’s Head Liner Rock Band for a few years. My friends from Motley Crue would come to see me perform at the Roxy. Tommy Lee Bass, Tommy Lee, and I went to High School together. We were the school rock stars and played in the marching band together. Tom and I spend most of our time in High School playing gigs and hanging out.

Dean was born to perform!
He started his career as a singer/songwriter starting with piano at the age of 4. By age 9 he was synchronizing drum beats and in the 10th grade headlined with a music group primed to cut his first record. He practically lived in the recording studio and was the songwriter and lead singer for the bands Aftershock, Danger and No Stranger composing such hits as Crazy Like Me, Tramp In Black Leather, Can’t Keep My Eyes Off Of You and I’m Gonna Miss you. His bands headlined at the Roxy, Whiskey and Gazzari’s. Deans ballads are inspirational and drawn from his own life experiences. The son of June Von, a well known singer with Kate Smith and Liberace, she appeared on the Lawrence Welk Show and hosted her own radio show in Las Vegas, Nevada. After an 8 year sabbatical he decided to go back to his passion, writing and singing songs from his heart.
Dean met Lois in August of 2005 and began composing the theme songs for her programs. Out There, 2nd Chance For Glory, Bikini Pool and Believe in Me have already been recorded. Presently Dean is the Co-Host for Break N Run and the Host of Deans Pool Tips. All of the music featured on My Pool TV is composed and performed by The Dean Von Band.
The goal at My Pool TV™ is to have Deans songs drive the programs and the programs drive the songs. Let’s face it? When was the last time a television theme song has made it into the pop charts?

Labor Day is a national tribute to the hardworking individuals who strive towards prosperity and strength for the United States.
Always the first Monday of every September, Labor Day is dedicated to workers in the United States for their participation in the American workforce.
The first state to introduce the legislature was New York, however, the first to make it law was Oregon in 1887. During that same year Colorado, New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts brought the holiday into law. By 1894, 23 more states including Nebraska, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania followed suit. Congress passed legislature making the first Monday in September a Federal holiday.
Over a century after the very first Labor Day demonstration and picnic, there is still some confusion as to who really proposed the holiday.
Some records tout Peter. J. McGuire. Mr. McGuire was a co-founder of the American Federation of Labor and the general secretary for the Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners. According to history, it was he who suggested that there be a day to honor those, “Who from rude nature have delved and carved all the grandeur we behold.”
However, Peter McGuire’s claim was challenged with many believing that a machinist by the name of Matthew Maguire not Peter McGuire is responsible for the Labor Day holiday with research supporting the claim. With that being said, it is clear that it was the Central Labor Union that adopted the Labor Day proposal appointing a Labor Day committee to plan a picnic and demonstration.
The first celebration of Labor Day was on a Tuesday, September 5 in 1883 in New York City in accordance with the Central Labor Unions plans.
In 1884, the first Monday was selected as was originally proposed. The Central Labor Union asked similar organizations to help celebrate a, “Workingmen’s Holiday,” on that day, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Dean Von Music is doing so many things at the moment that it is hard to keep up, even for me! Not one to stay out of the recording studio for long rumor has it that Dean is working on a couple of new tunes that are sure to get people listening.
The popular singer, songwriter and podcast show host has also released a new album, started a new Patreon Page and is offering vocal coaching to people who have always wanted to sing just a little bit better.
Speaking from experience Dean Von Music has helped my voice tremendously. I started training when I was 9 years old.
I’m now in my 60’s and with the changes that have occurred in my voice didn’t quite know how to handle the transition. With that being said my vibrato and volume was always too much for me to control. However because I was being classically trained my teachers encouraged it as they had always hoped I would be an opera singer.
It wasn’t until Dean started coaching me that I realized I didn’t have to push myself. Fast forward to today and I’m happy to say that both Dean and I are thrilled with the results. My voice is now more commercial and contemporary which was the goal all along.

Dean is on fire and this coming week is going to be one for the books for Dean Von Music.
Dean is doing publicity for the album on a radio show in Brazil, a podcast with a surprise guest and getting ready to promote a songwriting competition which starts tomorrow all within three days of each other. As I always say, if you build it, they will come.
Always one to get the message out there Dean decided to try his luck in a song writing competition. Sponsored by The Open Act Dean Von Music was chosen as a finalist.

While in production for the series I had the pleasure of travelling to Sam’s Studio at his home in Ontario Canada where I was able to interview him for an up close and personal for my show. I find it eerily coincidental that Dean is interviewing him well over a decade later.
Fast forward to today and Sam popped into my head. I sent him a message and here we are.

The train keeps on rolling and it’s getting faster and faster as Dean revs up for Episode #16 Season Two of the Dean Von Music Podcast Show. Mark this in ink on your calendar as you won’t want to miss it.
Fast forward to now and Dean and I were talking about who should be on the Dean Von Music Podcast Show. Sam popped in my head.
Quite frankly I’m not sure why I didn’t think about Sam before because he is just the best and so animated. We actually did a segment for my series at his home in Canada back in the day.
I did some research and discovered that this talented musician certainly hasn’t been resting on his laurels.
Sam has a record label, two production studios and a talent management company, if that isn’t enough Glass Tiger is back on tour.
Dean can’t wait to interview Sam. I for one will be a fly on the wall for this episode of the Dean Von Music Podcast Show. Who knows, I might even drop by to say hi.

Dean and the boys from Stormer premiered the Podcast Show Season 2 Episode 15 on March31st. It was another one for the books that’s for sure.

In the meantime Dean is back in the studio adding some new tunes to his latest album. With a couple of songs already penned this entertainer will be ready to hit the road for a national, or international, tour.

Dean is also getting ready to shoot a new video for one of the songs on the album. My lips are sealed of course, but I can tell you that the storyboard is coming together and the clip is going to be awesome.
Featuring Dean and friends it is a video that Dean Von Music and Almost Famous Productions hopes to release sometime this summer.
